Wednesday classes located at The Scout Hut, Judson's Recreation Ground, Wrotham Road, Meopham. 10-11am. Free flow play sessions for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Pay as you go sessions. £9 per child, £13.50 for a child plus sibling. Cash or card when you arrive. Sessions run every Wednesday during term time, and occasionally during the school holidays. Please check my social media pages for regular updates. Classes are suitable from 6 months up to age 5. Share the joy with your child as they create art and crafts, and explore messy and sensory play trays. Creating art, and open ended exploration in messy and sensory play is scientifically proven to be beneficial for babies and children in terms of their development and learning. It fosters natural curiosity and exploration which engages their senses at a level appropriate for them. It also develops fine motor skills, spacial reasoning, and hand-eye coordination. It promotes language development and communication, provides opportunities to connect and socialise, and enhances confidence, creative abilities, imagination, and concentration, to name but a few. At a mini artists session you will find several stations with sensory/messy play and art opportunities for babies and toddlers. For slightly older children (preschoolers) there are also tables set out with art and craft activities at a more challenging level appropriate for them. Sessions are nearly always themed. As standard I always set out water play (because all small children seem to love it!), and also a toy area. The other activities change every week, so your child will never get bored. At mini artists sessions your child will experience a large range of art and messy play materials and techniques. I provide aprons, warm soapy water and towels for you to use, if your child enjoys getting messy! I also provide hot drinks and biscuits for free. I have been providing art play group sessions since 2018 and I absolutely love it. I first started when my two children were ages 2 and 4. I still do plenty of art and messy play with my own children (now primary school aged), as I know how much it benefits children in their development and learning. I am also a part time teacher in a SEN school, where I have taught in all the key stages. I have been teaching art as a fully qualified teacher since 1998! Come along to a relaxed and friendly class!
